We have decided to keep Kemo Coliseum section in the secret lab. We will be updating the report like we use to. However, instead of a weekly report, it will be bi-weekly, which is the same as Patreon. You will gain access to the latest build as well.<br />

The current members who are Bronze level and above are now assigned a title of "Kemo Coliseum Supporter". Only people with this title can access the Kemo Coliseum section in the secret lab. This mean any new member who donate $20 or more after today, will gain access to the Secret Lab, but not Kemo Coliseum section.<br />

Differences between Kemo Coliseum section & Kemo Coliseum Patreon</h3>
Both supporters on Patreon and supporters on the forum will get the following:<br />

<b>1.) Improved Battle Flow</b><br />
Following changes were made to the battle flow:<br />
<ul>
<li>Gem effects are now activated as soon as gems are matched. This is to speed things up, and I think it's much better! </li>
<li>Press turns are flash as soon as you do something that grant you an extra turn. This is to give an immediate feedback, letting you know which action that grant you the extra turn. </li>
<li>Added the battle result window at the end of the battle. It isn't completely finished yet, but the main functionality is there! (Grading the battle result will be postponed to next version since it isn't that important yet)</li>
<li>Who starts the first turn is now randomly decided. The higher the TEC stat, the higher chance you'll start first. </li>

These gems will decrease damage dealt to you. Currently, there are two type of protect gems: </div>

These are pretty much buff status effects that you can find in RPG games. By separating attack into two types, this should create a situation where you want to prioritize one type of attack over the other. For example, if your opponent creates a high strength physical protect gem, then you would want to attack them with magic attacks while trying to erase that protect gem.</div>

<li>Treasure boxes work! You can now get items or equipments from treasure boxes.</li>

Phew! I think that should be all of it. Most of the stuffs we finished in October are programming and gameplay related stuffs. The game is now playable, as in you can explore the dungeons like going through each point on a map in Puzzle Quest. We spent time balancing the numbers and stuffs as well, and I think it's ok right now. At least, I found myself spending time leveling up, gaining skills and finishing the dungeon many times. Still, we need to hear feedback from play-testers for further adjustment.</div>

First of all, we want to apologize. We promised that we would release the first chapter in August, in order to make it in time with the comic market. However, things did not went as we planned. I was very busy with IRL jobs, and other personal matters such as health issues.</div>

Finished writing more quests for the first episode of the game. We've decided that we will give player a choice when it comes to these kind of erotic quest. You can engage in a sexual activity or avoid it if you want to.<br />

To make things more fun, the choices you make will affect character's lust. Your lust rating will affect future erotic events or quests, as well as some of the characters relationship.<br />
<br />
Each character will also start with a different lust rating. For example, Cyrus is sexually active, so he'll find himself (or try to put himself into) many erotic situations, whereas an ex-soldier like Volga would be able to control himself more. However, this will change during the course of the game so if you want Volga to be more sexually active, then you can do that as well.<br />

The lust point won't affect the main quests/main story.</div>

These gems can still be matched normally. Most gem enchantments are in effect as long as they are on the board, so matching them is one way to erase the effects. Gem enchantment is like a status condition in your usual RPG game. Since you can erase them by making a match, anyone can remove bad condition without having to use skills. Still, some characters like Darius will have skills that help you deal with enemy's gem enchantments easier. </div>

To make things easy for players, we make the value of each gem clear on the status screen. <br /><br />For example, from this sample screen:<br /><ul>
<li>Each SWORD gem deal 8 damage. So a match of 3 gems will deal 24 damage, a match of 4 will deal 32 damage, and so on.</li>
<li>Each THUNDER gem deal 2 damage. So a match of 3 will deal 6 damage, twice since it's a multiple-hit attack.</li>
<li>Each SHIELD gem increases your shield by 10%</li>

We were there a little bit late so we couldn't get int during the circle preparation period (T_T) We apologize to everyone who had to wait for us to setup our booth that day!</div>

We didn't really have time to promote our space, so we didn't expect that many people to know about us. To our surprise, everything was sold out! Thank you very much! >_<<br />

After we sold out everything, we used our booth to demonstrate Kemo Coliseum, as well as distributing the rest of the free paper we printed. In the free paper, we put a questionnaire asking people what kind of characters and erotic situations they want to see in the game. This is to help us coming up with ideas for side quests and sub characters. There's also a url to download the demo in the free paper.<br />

It was great seeing people stopping by our booth and playing the game. We got valuable feedbacks from seeing how people play the game, as well as talking to them. Thank you again to everyone who visited our booth that day!<br />

April was a super busy month for us because we wanted to deliver a playable demo for Kemoket 3, a furry doujin event. Here's the list of what we worked on this month.</div>

- Changed the 'Thunder gem' from multi-part attack to multi-hit attack. Each hit will chip away enemy's shield by 20%. So it's a great tool to help you deal the most damage to your opponent.<br /><br />- Add more skills! Currently, the available skill effects are<br /><ul>
<li>Deal damage to enemy/yourself</li>
<li>Heal yourself/yourself</li>
<li>Randomly destroy a specific number of gems on the board, activating or not activating the gem effects</li>

<li>Deal multiple damages</li>

I finally got the battle animation to work! Now I can add a 'Frame Action' to the animation. For example, I can tell the animation to create a white flash effect to make it looks like a heavy attack. I can also control the time when the damage number should pop, depending on each battle animation. <b>Comment on Design Changes</b><br />
We saw flaws in the previous shield system as follow:<br />
1.) Not intuitive. You have to memorize how much percentage each type of shield will reduce enemy's damage<br />
2.) Inflexible. When a single shield gem doesn't have any meaning, it isn't possible to create a skill that erase many gems on the board and also activate the gem effects.<br />

The new system should solve this problem while not making the shield gem too powerful. <br />

<b>Future Plan</b><br />
After many playtests, we felt that the game mechanic is now fun as it is. Each turn requires you to think about which action to take and which skill to use. <br />

However, we found that we care about which armor part to attack less and less. Since we have already many things to think about, adding a passive bonus to each armor part would simply make the game too complicate. <br />
<br />
The armor part system also make the battle a bit unfair. AI doesn't care about seeing you naked and they want to knock you out as soon as possible. Currently, it feels like a gimmick that only distracts players.<br />
<br />
Hence we have decided that we will remove the armor part system, and replace it with a new health system instead.<br />

<b>New Health System</b><br />
The new health system will be a combination of health and armor. Basically, this will be like in Sugar Shooter game where a character has more than 1 life bar. The first few bars represent each armor layer durability, and the final bar represent your health.<br />

Generally, you and bosses will have three life bars. During each life bar, character's clothes will be changed as follow:<br />

Our last game this year is Touch and Tease vol. 3! This game is special to us because we had tried a new crowd funding model that we hope it would be best for everyone - both audiences and creators. We worked really hard on this game and in the end we think it paid off. </div>

We had been working on this game on and off and at one point we were so scared that we would disappoint the players. Sometime when you work on something for too long, you don't know if it's good or bad anymore.</div>

With crowd funding, we let the audience decide whether we should spend more time on this project. The result was unexpected as we reached our goal in a week! </div>

Another style we would like to try is a cartoon style like Dragon Quest series. Perhaps it also depends on the monster and we might have to mix two styles together.</div>

We designed the folder structure of the game in order to make it easy for players to add custom content and translate the game. Currently it isn't final yet. I think we have to test it with actual players and let them customize some scenario or translate some parts of the game and see if it's too confusing or not.<br />

Other than that,<span style="font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 12px; line-height: 17.46875px;"> </span></span>we decided that we will update the game in episode manner, where each episode is one boss fight in the coliseum. I think this would make it much easier for us since the goal is now smaller and clearer. It's easier to adjust the game balance for each part as well.<br />

To prevent over-leveling before moving on to the next episode, we will put a level cap in each episode. For example, the level cap for the first episode might be 10. So when the second episode is released, your level won't be too high.</div>

We've refined the map from the sketch. Now the city is surrounded by mountains. I think we're going to change that pool into a natural river instead. </div>

The gladiators at the coliseum aren't your only opponents. You may get to fight mystical creatures while exploring a dungeon. Unlike kemono/furry characters, this type of enemy cannot be stripped. We haven't thought of any erotic scenes with them yet. We might do that in the future, since there are people mentioning this during the discussion in the secret lab.<br />

On May 4th, we rented a space at Kemoket2 event to demonstrate Kemo Coliseum and sell our merchandise and our new game 「Beast Warrior : Night Attack」! Now that the event is over and things are settled, I think it'll be a good time for us to report you guys on what happened at the event!</div>

Book Problem</h3>

Due to some printing problems, we couldn't finish Kurono Rokurou's original comic 'Kumo no Ito'. Should we proceed with fixing the printing problem, we won't be able to attend the event for sure. So we decided to sacrifice the book and went with only two items, which are Kemo Coliseum Original Blank Sketchbook and Beast Warrior : Night Attack. </div>

To be honest, we thought not so many people know about us, since, well, nobody really talk about us. And we didn't really promote our stuffs either. After we sold everything, our booth was pretty much empty. So we ran Kemo Coliseum on our iPad and put a sign telling people to try the game if they want to. We were happy to see people stopping by the booth and play the demo. We were really really happy to see people excited to see the game and to hear they say 'Ganbattekudasai'(Keep it up/Don't give up!) after they finished playing. I really can't wait to continue working on the game!</div>
