Quick summary for people who are new here. We have a Weekly Progress report in the secret lab section of our forum. The monthly reports will be a summary of those weekly reports, excluding the exclusive stuffs.
Game Status
Plan for the 1st Chapter
Our current plan for what will be in the 1st chapter is as follow:

Battle Formula
We have made changes to the current battle formula. Mainly, the multiple attack gem's damage. Previously, it depended solely on a DEX parameter and thus become too powerful or hard to balance.
We have also changed the flow of the gem match sequence. This should make the battle faster than before.
New Gem Mechanic
A new game mechanic has been added : Gem Enchantment!
Some skills will enchant gems on the board, giving them a special effect. The effects are ranging from boosting your attack, reducing damage, dealing extra damage to enemy each turn, etc. Those who has played Marvel Puzzle Quest should be familiar with the concept :)

These gems can still be matched normally. Most gem enchantments are in effect as long as they are on the board, so matching them is one way to erase the effects. Gem enchantment is like a status condition in your usual RPG game. Since you can erase them by making a match, anyone can remove bad condition without having to use skills. Still, some characters like Darius will have skills that help you deal with enemy's gem enchantments easier.
New Status Screen
To make things easy for players, we make the value of each gem clear on the status screen.
For example, from this sample screen:
Kuroda has finished writing some quests for the game already. There's a mix of erotic quest ( a quest that could lead to an erotic scene) and your usual rpg quest.
Finished coding the new status screen! The layout isn't final yet, so there might be some changes in the future.
For example, from this sample screen:
- Each SWORD gem deal 8 damage. So a match of 3 gems will deal 24 damage, a match of 4 will deal 32 damage, and so on.
- Each THUNDER gem deal 2 damage. So a match of 3 will deal 6 damage, twice since it's a multiple-hit attack.
- Each SHIELD gem increases your shield by 10%
- Each HEAL gem recover 5 health. A match of 3 -> 15 points.
- Each MAGIC POINT and PHYSICAL POINT gems will cool down your skills by 1
- Each RAGE gem will increase your Rage meter by 5 points.
