Kemo Coliseum Monthly Progress : August & September 2014




Hi there, everyone!

Sorry for the lack of update. Even though it's almost the end of October and it might be better to include October's activities into the report, we want to keep you update on what happened on the previous months. Hence, we decided to write this report. The October report will be in the first week of November.

Quick summary for people who are new here. We have a Weekly Progress report in the secret lab section of our forum. The monthly reports will be a summary of those weekly reports, excluding the exclusive stuffs.



What Happened?

First of all, we want to apologize. We promised that we would release the first chapter in August, in order to make it in time with the comic market. However, things did not went as we planned.  I was very busy with IRL jobs, and other personal matters such as health issues.

I spent August trying to get my life back on track, and it is more or less back to normal now. I am able to back to work on Kemo Coliseum again. So, most of the activities will be in October report, but I'd like to let you know what we had done in September anyway.

Story

Kurono finished writing most of the game scenario scripts, including side quests and main quests for chapter 1. Might need to run them again to polish some movement in the visual novel scene, but at least all of them are playable and ready to be tested in the game.

Programming

1.) Save & Load




I'd spent time working on saving and loading feature of the game. This took longer than I thought but everything is now working correctly. The save & load screen still need some works though.

2.) Audio Manager

Finished a new audio manager in our game! It's been something I want to fix for a while now since last demo so I decided to fix it before moving on to the dungeon part. With the new audio manager, we can
  • Separate between the intro part and the main part of a song.
  • Crossfading between two songs.
  • Controlling pitch & volume of a bgm
  • Controlling pitch & volume of each sound effect
  • Global BGM and SE volume, so that players can adjust the volume in option mode

Those of you who played the latest demo must have heard the Battle Theme already. I personally can't wait to create bosses to go with Coliseum Boss and Dangerous Boss themes!

Art

Got the line art of the final erotic CG in chapter 1 from Nullghost! We'll working on coloring it net.



And that's about it! Sorry if it doesn't seem much. We had progressed a lot in October though so if you want to see how the game's like right now, please wait a bit for October report.

Thank you to everyone who donated to us. There was an increase in sales of Kumo no Ito as well! To those of you who are looking forward to Kurono Rokurou's new work, it's in the process of localization right now. Once we have an update on it we will let you know as soon as possible :)
