Kemo Coliseum Monthly Progress : August 2013

A little bit late but Kemo Coliseum August report is finally here!

Quick summary for people who are new here. We have a Weekly Progress report in the secret lab section of our forum. The monthly reports will be a summary of those weekly reports, excluding the exclusive stuffs.

Game Status

August was a fun month! We worked mostly on the main story as well as the backstories of each character. We also got many important elements written down in our design document. Unfortunately, we can't disclose any of these without spoiling the game!

Enemy Design

We experimented with different enemy styles in order to find the style that will suit our game. For our first try, we tried a more realistic design.

Another style we would like to try is a cartoon style like Dragon Quest series. Perhaps it also depends on the monster and we might have to mix two styles together.

Game Design

We designed the folder structure of the game in order to make it easy for players to add custom content and translate the game. Currently it isn't final yet. I think we have to test it with actual players and let them customize some scenario or translate some parts of the game and see if it's too confusing or not.

Other than that, we decided that we will update the game in episode manner, where each episode is one boss fight in the coliseum. I think this would make it much easier for us since the goal is now smaller and clearer. It's easier to adjust the game balance for each part as well.

To prevent over-leveling before moving on to the next episode, we will put a level cap in each episode. For example, the level cap for the first episode might be 10. So when the second episode is released, your level won't be too high.


For CGs in the game, currently we are moving on to the inking stage. However, we want to feature various expression in an erotic scene. We decided to draw expression references for each character to make sure that NullGhost and we understand the characters the same way.

Volga's expression when he's top seems too excited so we'll fix that.

Taking a Break

Since our Touch and Tease vol.3 fundraising campaign reached the goal last month, we will take a break from Kemo Coliseum this month and fully work on Touch and Tease vol. 3 so that we can release the game within next month. Because of this, there will be no September monthly report.

While Kemo Coliseum will be a game that is free to play, it is definitely not free to make. If you can, please help support us so we can keep working on the game, make it better, and finish it faster :)
